Around twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the area, generating powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.

Locals observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Victorian Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams responded to over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this week as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk expected across various areas of both regions.
